Welcome to the Sticker Club!
I know, I know, it’s a bit of work. That’s just what I thought when I got our invitation. I’ll be real… I was a little bit “Aw man, more work” when I received ours. After some quick googling, it appears that many people hate stuff like this.
Buuuuut, we all know that mail is super fun! Plus, this is a great way to :
- Encourage early writers to write their friend’s names.
- Show kids how to address a letter (how often do we do that anymore?!)
- It has some built-in geography lessons when the stickers start pouring in.
- It’s a fun way to help your child learn some new skills and it’s relatively easy.
The pros outdid the cons for me so I decided to go for it.
So I took the original letter, edited out the guilt-trippiness (parents are crazy busy… no shame!) and fixed it up so you can print it out right from here if you want to participate. If not, no pressure! I’m pretty sure everything will be OK if you opt out or don’t send it to a full six kids.
Here’s the link to a google doc with the blank letter template. Feel free to print and share as needed.
I’ll be honest, my 5 year old really enjoyed the sticker club. She had fun picking out marker colors and writing her friend’s names. She loved placing stickers all over the envelope.
Little one even went through our sticker stash and chose sheets to enclose with every envelope. Make up your own rules, eh? After all, it’s just stickers!
I hope your kids enjoy the sticker club as much as mine did this evening!
